Presenter Ray Keithley
Since Light is this year’s club program theme, long time Club member Ray Keithley will help kick things off by speaking on a photographic exhibition on Light put together by Minor White in the late 1960s. Minor was a contemporary of his good friends such as Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Imogen Cunningham, Dorothea Lange and others. He brought his own unique approach to photography. The exhibition collection includes some images by well-known artists, but many by lesser-known photographers.
Ray’s presentation will start with a review of just who Minor White was and how he developed his philosophy of photographic imaging. We’ll review common judging criteria and then you, PCC members, will serve as a panel of judges for about 15 images from the exhibition. Just how do these photos represent Light to you? This experience of analysis can help you in your own photographic endeavors.
Ray first spoke to our Club in February 2010 and has been a member and Club participant in many ways since then.
We meet at the First United Methodist Church located at 116 NE Perry in downtown Peoria, IL. Doors open at 6:30P and the meeting starts at 7P. Peoria Camera Club typically meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from Sept to May.
Visitors are welcome. Questions about attending? email: membership@peoriacameraclub.com
