Once again the Peoria Camera Club will be hosting the 2016 National Insect Salon, a Photographic Society of America-sanctioned Nature competition. This year the judging has been moved forward by about 6 weeks to August 27, 2016. Images must be submitted no later than August 20, 2016. The Conditions for Entry and the entry portal are available by clicking the link above. You may enter up to 4 images. Sequences are allowed with an entire sequence counted as 1 image. (For example, you could enter 1 sequence and 3 single images for the total of 4 entries.) We offer our members a reduced entry fee of $2.00, so ignore the payment instructions during entry. Your images will be accepted without payment. You can give your entry fee to Joe Virbickis, Insect Salon Committee Chairperson as the 2016-2017 club year opens in August. So, get your gear out there in the hunt for the small creatures that are insects, spiders and related arthropods. Please, take part in a unique competition that opens a truly fascinating world for you to explore and record. And, put August 27th on your calendar to view the judging at our club meeting venue (FUMC) where you can see spectacular images from around the world.
The Peoria Camera Club invites the world’s photographers to submit digital images restricted to insects, spiders, and related arthropods (such as barnacles, crabs, lobsters, shrimp, centipedes and millipedes) for the National Insect Salon.
